Working at our summer camp is both rewarding and challenging. We seek to hire responsible, reliable, and mature individuals who embrace the concept of commitment and are able to meet the demands of pre-camp preparation. In order to better understand the requirements of your employment, we have detailed here some of the actions that will be expected of you.
If you are interested in joining our team, the first step is to fill out our online application. Once this is submitted, your resume and cover letter will be forwarded to Human Resources. If you qualify for a position opening, you will be contacted for a phone interview. If the phone interview goes well, you will be entered into a smaller pool of candidates. You may be asked to come to our facility in Burlington, MA for an in-person interview which may include a practical assessment of your skill as an assistant in an adventure class. Long distant candidates may be asked for a Skype interview and may also be asked to submit video footage of their skill set, depending on the position for which they are applying.
If you are offered a position, you will be sent an employment contract. You must sign and return the contract within 3 days in order to accept the position. Failure to meet the deadline may result in a retraction of the offer.
Once we receive your contract, you will be sent a Welcome Package which includes links to an online application, references required, forms that must be submitted (including current immunizations and a doctor’s physical that is not more than 12 months old), and other important details. You must submit all necessary paperwork and forms by the deadline required or your employment contract will be void.
As well, you will be sent access to an online course for CPR and First Aid. You must complete the online course by the deadline and send the pdf of your certificate to Human Resources. Upon arrival to camp during the training week, you will participate in a review and then take the practical exam with the CPR dummies.
We will also provide you with access to our Online Staff Community, where you will meet the other staff you will be working with and have access to upcoming plot ideas. We may ask for your input on some plots or other aspects of camp, depending upon your expertise. As well, we plan to have an online meet-n-greet video chat where our staff can socialize and learn about the Rules System and how the game works.
